Derek is going to be in Kentucky for several months. I am not. He'll be getting more money, so it's worth it. But I might go crazy. If I join a cult, someone save me.

I got a Kindle for my birthday. It is an amazing device. It doesn't replace books (especially because I got a lot of awesome ones for my birthday), but it is really fantastic. Reading on it is like magic.

I knitted a case for it, but I won't be using it; the yarn gets caught at the edge of the Kindle's screen and that is sad. I'll turn it into a regular-book case instead, for car trips and such, because it's cute. Someday I should upload things to ravelry.

Instead, I got a leather envelope from Saddleback Leather Co., and I just have to say, if you need anything made of leather, try there first. Amazing quality. Really perfect stitching, sturdy, durable, and it's great leather. I'm going to be adding a bunch of stuff from there to my Amazon wishlist for the enter-non-Amazon-items sweepstakes they have going for a bit yet. It's pricey, but it's sooooo worth it. Also, they have a great sense of humor. My case came with a note that had a bit about how when I die people will fight over this. Because it's just that good.
